i heart thomas o’brien
I think my design love affair with Thomas O’Brien started when his apartment was featured in the now-defunct House & Garden magazine–it was in the same issue as Gwyneth’s Paltrow’s home and was completely overshadowed, which is too bad because I think it’s the better of the two.
His navy and weathered ivory color palette in his home was so low-key and comfortable, but he managed to pull it together in a sophisticated way with accessories (all designed by himself–if only we all had the means…).
This photo (from Elle Decor July/August 2006) inspires me to replicate the casual art pinnings on a wall in my place. I think it perfectly represents his style: relaxed yet evocative. Ok, I’m done gushing. Thomas O’Brien. Love him. Oh, and he has a line at Target. It’s like he sits around thinking, “What can I do that would make design bloggers fall in love with me?”
